next up: zeeeebeeeeee!

Another FO!

In the course of a day I took this:

HPIM0478
handspun by ali

plus a little lamb’s pride…

and made it into THIS:

HPIM0512

or if you prefer:

HPIM0511

Pattern: Zeebee hat, by scheebot
Yarn: 40% ali’s handspun, plus 60% dark brown lamb’s pride worsted, held double
Size: 20″ circumference for my 22″ head
Needles: US11 bamboo circs
Notes: This pattern is so gratifying, I can’t wait to try it again! The construction is so simple and brilliant. Honestly, I’m so picky about hats and I have such a big fat head that I’ve never made one I’m willing to wear. They never fit quite right, they’re itchy, bla bla bla… I love this hat. As soon as it’s not 90 degrees out anymore I start wearing it – ha ha. I’m planning on sewing some fleece around the inside. I could stand for it to be a little bit tighter, and I’ve finally decided that I just can’t have wool touching my face. It’s weird because I’m fine with scratchy scarves. I just have a sensitive forehead, I guess???

This is my favorite part:

HPIM0513

Just a little streak of yellow! I also love the sparklies that Ali spun into the yarn. I love the nice tidiness of the lamb’s pride next to the bumpiness of the handspun. Just the right balance!

Oh, I tried to take about a million pictures of myself actually wearing the hat but they all looked terrible. It was either impossible to see the hat, or I’d cut out half my head, and if you could see my eyes – forget it! They’re all baggy and gray right now since it’s the end of the school year.
