A number of readers and friends have expressed amazement that I've been able to keep up with so much crafting while preparing for my comprehensive exams. This is due to the fact that whenever I'm not working - I'm crafting. Or cooking or eating, but mostly crafting. Up until now. It seems that last week or so my working time suddenly expanded to fill almost all my waking hours. I finished the Frank mittens, I worked a bit more on some gifts for a couple friends who are in Russia for the year (they need good warm wooly things!), and suddenly it just stopped. Peter's birthday is coming, Christmas will be upon us at any moment, and I have no fewer than 900 friends who are expecting babies. I pulled out some yarn for a BSJ, made a swatch, and casting on has just been too taxing. It's all on hold, sitting in a huge yarn-tastrophe on top of my dresser.
Regarding the exams, I'm in very good shape when it comes to some things, and terrifying shape concerning some other things. I won't bore you with the details, but suffice it to say I'll be busting my ass for the next few weeks, as is the custom with qualifying exams. No matter how it goes, come early November I'll be done, and my life will be substantially different. Pass or fail, at this point I'm just looking forward to a change. I may or may not be back here before then, so for now I'll say see you on the other side, dear readers.

all your hard work will pay off L, you will kick ass, I’m sure of it. I will keep you in my thoughts, send you lots of ass-kicking mojo!
You’re gonna rock the shit out of those exams, scholar. Though we’d all love you either way. NO PRESSURE.
good luck good luck good luck good luck!
I second what andrea said – Good Luck!
It’s funny, a BSJ just recently helped kick-start my knitting mojo (it’s done and unphotographed but just needs buttons), but it killed yours! In two weeks, I bet you’ll be back to it all.
