Happy Sunday, dear readers! Is falling back not just the best thing in the world? We were all very grateful for that extra hour of sleep around here.
A little housekeeping: I'm sorry I keep monkeying around with the way my RSS feed works. I have some anxiety about publishing a full post through RSS since I know at least a couple people who have had their content stolen/republished that way, AND I can't seem to figure out how to make my pictures scale in a nice and normal way in the feed. But I know people find RSS feeds that publish only a short blurb and then force you to click through to be annoying. Would you mind taking a moment to share your personal preferences with me?
Aw, such sweet sleepy kitters!
Hmmm… I much prefer to read the whole post in Google Reader — having to click through takes extra time, and often the snippet that appears in Reader doesn’t fully represent the scope of the post. That said, I let my whole posts get published through RSS, and I have had some content stolen and published on overseas sites. Six of one, half-dozen of the other, I suppose…

I have the Google Reader bookmarklet thing where I just click “next” in my favorites bar and it brings me to the next blog I haven’t read? It brings me directly to the post on the blog itself rather than making me look at a feed reader thing so I have no idea if most of the blogs i read use a full RSS feed or an abbreviated one so it doesn’t effect me either way. I realize this is not at all helpful.
I prefer reading the whole post in Google Reader, but I also feel it’s not a huge deal either way. I have to click over to the actual blog in order to comment, anyway, and your blog layout is so attractive it’s not like it’s a hardship to spend a little more time with it.
I also prefer to read the full post in the reader. This is especially true when I’m reading on Safari on my iphone: jumping between screens on that is fiddly and annoying. On my computer, it really doesn’t matter much.
I prefer when I can read an entire post in my reader but I always click over to your site. And now that you mention the issues of content being stolen, it’s definitely making me rethink things.
I allow my posts to be read in full on Google Reader, mainly cos I read most of my blogs on Google Reader in bed on my iPod Touch. Its very annoying to go to new windows if you want to read the full post. However, if the post is open, I am more likely to comment.
I like to click through to get the full experience of a post. I think I used to use a plugin that put a copyright notice at the foot of my post in the reader (not that it prevented someone with bad intentions, but it made me feel better). I’ll have to see if I can find a link for you. Like Stitched Together said, if I click through, I’m more likely to comment. But people don’t comment much, do they? Maybe I’m wrong.

I use Google Reader and it doesn’t bother me at all to click through for the full post. Just one opinion…..
i don’t mind clicking through. half the blogs i read show all content in google reader and the other half show them through clicking through. since i want to read these blogs too, hence the subscription, i’m happy to click through. especially when pretty pictures are there!

I think the best thing in the world would be if we just never changed the clocks around in the first place, but I’m a curmudgeon like that
I definitely prefer reading the whole post in Reader, because I’m lazy. But for blogs by people I care about (e.g. yours) I’m happy to click through. It’s the political blogs and things like that where I can’t be bothered to click through if the snippet doesn’t tell me enough about what I’ll be reading.

I just come directly to the site, so I have no RSS preferences to share. But those cats are seriously making me sleepy and happy at the same time. Too cute!!!
