I've been nursing a food hangover all day, and yet I don't have any regrets. My God was this a delicious Thanksgiving. We did a potluck celebration with some friends and everyone really brought their a-games.
One contribution that I was particularly pleased with (although let's face it, I loved everything I made) was my mincemeat pie. I didn't even make the filling; the generous and wonderful Cinnamon gave me a jar of hers. But I'm not a big baker of desserts (bread yes, desserts not as much) and this was my first time doing a lattice top pie crust. It turned out both gorgeous and delicious.
Of course when it came time for the dessert course it was one of just many obscenely good options, including buttermilk pie, pumpkin cheesecake, orange-persimmon ice cream, apple crisp ... omg.
Someone was a little upset over not getting any turkey... but she sure was polite about it.
