casting on…

Today I wound up a couple skeins of fingering weight yarn - by the Plucky Knitter (on top in that shot) and Another Crafty Girl (on the bottom) - to start a Stripe Study as part of an informal KAL with some buddies. (We are me, Minty, Jacey, Phoe, and Rue!) So I told you about the Another Crafty Girl yarn recently after I saw her booth at the DIY Trunk show. This Plucky Knitter is an amazing companion for it; it might just be the most beautiful yarn I've ever seen.

Okay maybe I shouldn't soften that claim: that plucky knitter yarn is the most beautiful yarn I have ever seen. I took about a million pictures of it today so I could show you, but they all fall woefully short. The yarn absolutely shines. It's wooly yet glowy and luminescent. I might cry a little while I cast it on.

Speaking of which, I've got needles to find and a pattern to print out. So until tomorrow I'll leave you with this little snapshot of some amazingly klasseeee makeup I saw in CVS today:

That's right. It's glitter in gel that you put on your eyes.

Excuse me - EYEZ.

Oh dear god, the poor 13 year olds that are going to squeeze that shit on their eyes.

I love your stripe study color combo!

  2. perfect combo for the stripe study – you could persuade me to cast that beauty on too.

  3. Yay stripe study! And the image I have in my head is a single tear falling out of your eye as you cast on. Or EYEZ.

  5. Goodness, I’ve missed a lot this month! I’m so jealous of your KAL for striped study. I so want to cast that knit on but alas, I have too much on my plate right now. I was hoping to do it after the holidays…maybe watching all of you work through it will get my butt in gear to actually cats it on!

I’ve not been lucky enough to experience Plucky Knitter’s yarn yet…I’m hoping since she now has a shop that eventually something will be left that I can snag! ;)

Also, I’m disturbed by the EYEZ glitter…
